Features of the Remington Pro Curling Wand

Features are an important part of any decision to purchase hair tools. While the Remington Pro Curling Wand isn’t the most advanced hair tool, it does have some good features that make it stand out from similar tools. Here are a few for you to consider.

Pearl Ceramic Technology

This is a unique technology patented by Remington. It is a way to boost the benefits of regular ceramic technology. In a sense, you can say that the Remington Pro is “extra ceramic” compared to other ceramic curling products. The ceramic part of the wand is coated in real pearl which helps to boost the luster that the wand gives your hair as it curls. It also makes it easier for your hair to glide around the wand as it heats up.

Automatic Shut Off

If you’ve ever dashed out of the door and later realized you forgot to turn off your curling wand, you probably know how valuable an automatic shut off feature is. The Remington Pro Curling Wand shuts off after 60 minutes of being on continuously. This gives you protection for your counter and your home in case you forget to turn it off.

Super Fast Heating Time

Time is precious so it’s great that this curling wand is ready to go almost instantly. The Remington Pro can reach its top temperature in as little as 30 seconds. Heating time is even less for lower temperatures so you will be able to curl your hair in no time.

Is the Remington Pro Any Good?

We rated the Remington Pro Curling Wand with Pearl Ceramic Technology 4.5 stars out of five. We came up with this rating based on the average of some individual factors that we considered. Here are the individual factors and explanations for why we gave them this rating.

Ease Of Use – 4.8
Durability – 3
Heat Output – 5
Price – 5
Options – 4.5
Power – 4

Ease Of Use: The Remington Pro Curling Wand may be a basic hair tool as far as technology goes, but this makes it super easy to use. There aren’t any complicated features or controls to figure out. The buttons are well placed and the swivel cord makes it easy to maneuver around.

Durability: This area is where the Remington Pro Curling Wand takes a hit. While it seems to be well-made, it is made of cheap parts which may not hold up very well. It does have a two year limited warranty in case something breaks.

Heat Output: The Remington Pro promises 410 degrees and it definitely meets this promise. The wand can reach the top temperature quickly and effectively. The heat output is probably one of the biggest strengths of this curling wand.

Price: The Remington Pro Curling Wand is priced just right for every budget. That’s right–it’s cheap. On average, the curling wand is sold in the $25 to $30 range, making it extremely popular among people who are looking to save money.

Options (settings): Since the Remington Pro is a curling wand, there aren’t many options on the tool. In fact, the only “option” is the temperature setting. This is to be expected on a curling wand that is as cheap as the Remington Pro.

Our Honest Opinion About the Remington Pro Curling Wand

So far we’ve gone over all the features and benefits of the Remington Pro Curling Wand. It’s been all facts and features up till now, so you may be wondering what we really think about this hair tool. Here is a break down of our review of the hair tool.

First Impression

The Remington Pro Curling Wand really doesn’t grab your attention because it’s a pretty basic curling wand. It’s more like one of those wands you get because the price fits your budget and because you’re familiar with the brand. There isn’t any cool, stand out technology that makes you curious. The “pearlized” ceramic just doesn’t do enough to attract anyone.

Using the Remington Pro Curling Wand

Using the curling wand is easy but the wand isn’t suitable for all hair types. It especially doesn’t work well with fine hair. This type of hair just won’t hold the curls. Overall, you can expect to get a $25 performance from this $25 curling wand.

Overall Experience

Using the curling wand is simple but it really isn’t a high-performance hair tool. If you just want something to do some quick, then this is good for that but anything other than this would probably warrant a better curling wand. If we had to compare this to other similarly-priced curling wands, we can say that this may be the better of the two. For this price point, you would be getting your money’s worth.

How Does The Remington Pro Compare?

Remington Silk Ceramic vs. Remington Pearl Ceramic

Remington Curling Wand with Silk Ceramic Technology

These two Remington curling wands have a lot more similarities than differences. The main similarity is that they both have “added ceramic” that boost regular ceramic benefits. Remington states that the curling wand with silk technology enhances ceramic properties four times more than their standard ceramic curling wand. This is an empty, relative statement–it really depends on how good their standard ceramic curling wand is. What we can tell you is that the features are pretty much the same right down to the short cord length. The Silk Ceramic Remington is older and is being phased out, so if you are choosing between the two you’ll probably want to go with the pearl ceramic curling wand.

Dyson Airwrap vs. Remington Pro Curling Wand

Dyson Airwrap Hair Styler

When comparing these two curling wands–well, there really is no comparison. The Dyson Airwrap is light years ahead of the Remington Pro in technology. Dyson is known for releasing innovative new products and the Airwrap is no exception. While Remington is still relying on the good, trusted ceramic technology, Dyson created their own technology which harnesses a phenomenon called the Coanda effect. This basically causes your hair to wrap itself around the curling wand like magic. The Airwrap doesn’t get as hot as the Remington Pro, but this is purposely done by Dyson because the curling wand uses a powerful stream of air to curl your hair rather than extreme heat. One thing to keep in mind is that the Airwrap has a very hefty price tag. If it’s within your budget, then hands down the Airwrap is the better choice. However if you don’t want to drop several hundreds on an curling iron, stick with the Remington.

T3 Whirl Trio vs. Remington Pro Curling Wand

T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Styling Wand

Much like the Dyson Airwrap, the T3 Whirl Trio really doesn’t compare to the Remington Pro curling wand. It’s extraordinarily advanced. In fact, the only similarity that the two wands have is that they both have two year limited manufacturer’s warranty. The T3 Whirl Trio comes with three interchangeable barrels where as the Remington Pro comes in two sizes but you have to purchase them separately. The Whirl Trio simply has some of the best features all around so if you can splurge, get this one.

Final Thoughts

The Remington Pro Curling Wand with Pearl Ceramic Technology is a really good hair tool for the price range that it’s in. While it may not have all the bells and whistles as other curling wands, it still gets the job done quickly. On top of that, it can fit just about anyone’s budget. In fact, they are so cost effective that you could probably purchase both sizes so you’ll have all bases covered. Overall, the Remington Pro Curling Wand is a really good hair tool.
